Sugar Cookies (Dessert)

Ingredients

Amount Units Ingredient
3/4 Cup Shortening (butter)
1 Cup Sugar
2   Eggs
1 Tsp. Vanilla
2 1/2 Cups Flour
1 Tsp. Baking Powder
1 Tsp. Salt

Directions

  1. Mix thoroughly: shortening, sugar, eggs, and flavoring.
  2. Blend in flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cover - Chill at least 1 hour.
  4. Heat oven to 400˚.
  5. Roll dough 1/8" thick on lightly floured cloth covered board.
  6. Cut into desired shapes.
  7. Place on ungreased baking sheet
  8. Bake 6-8 minutes until very light brown.
